Where We Began
Jalpur Millers incorporated in 1976 at a time when we were just two family members who humbly set out to establish the business, using small and limited milling devices and an equally small retail outlet on Harrison Road, Leicester.
As the years passed, the brand started to establish a name for itself in the market – respected for its high-quality and authentic range of select Asian spices.
This reputation allowed us to start a wholesale operation within and around the Leicester area – which also entailed moving to a significantly larger facility and adding more manufacturing equipment to meet persistent demand.
A decade into the business, and one of the original family members was joined by his two younger brothers to further expand the scale and scope of the business. As the UK’s Asian population steadily grew in the 1980’s and 1990’s, so did the demand for authentic Asian spices, powders and flours.

We have set out to provide only the best-quality products at highly competitive prices, despite the consistently increasing prices on food commodities worldwide.
We also aim to provide the absolute best customer service – carefully integrating our clients’ feedback in order to further improve our offerings and overall service.

Using only the highest quality raw materials enable us to produce fine-quality ethnic flours and spices through traditional grinding methods such as stone milling – giving customers a taste of home. However, none of this could have been possible without our ethically sourced farmers.
Thanks to our collaboration with top Asian farmers which are all sourced through ethical channels, we have established ourselves as a trusted brand and a celebrated household name for over 30 years.
Ethically Sourced Farmers
Using only the highest quality raw materials enable us to produce fine-quality ethnic flours and spices through traditional grinding methods such as stone milling – giving customers a taste of home. However, none of this could have been possible without our ethically sourced farmers.
Thanks to our collaboration with top Asian farmers which are all sourced through ethical channels, we have established ourselves as a trusted brand and a celebrated household name for over 30 years.
Our Traditional Leicester Stone Mills
All our flours, powders and spices are grinded using stone milling, a traditional method known for producing the finest quality end product. Our traditional Leicester stone mills are outfitted with bespoke equipment and machinery so that we are able to manufacture, pack and distribute all our products locally – and also conveniently ship them overseas when we need to. Thanks to our traditional stone mills, we’ve even been supplying some of our products to Tesco since 2004 and continue to export to the US, Canada, Portugal and select parts of Europe.

All our flours, powders and spices are grinded using stone milling, a traditional method known for producing the finest quality end product. Our traditional Leicester stone mills are outfitted with bespoke equipment and machinery so that we are able to manufacture, pack and distribute all our products locally – and also conveniently ship them overseas when we need to. Thanks to our traditional stone mills, we’ve even been supplying some of our products to Tesco since 2004 and continue to export to the US, Canada, Portugal and select parts of Europe.

In addition to our sister company and retail outlet, Jalpur Millers Cash & Carry, our Wholesale Ltd company, Jalpur Millers, manufacturers more than 20 varieties of flours which is sold on a local and global scale – in fact, we are proud of our heritage, being the UK’s sole local manufacturer of a diverse range of ethnic flours.
We wholesale on a nationwide basis through re-salers who, in turn, make stock available through smaller retail outlets all over the country. , These outlets also house English and other authentic Indian groceries for our customers’ convenience.
